Hi Elmat, <<people by their own will exchange their local currencies for USD>> ... I have made paper gains this year, to date, when translated to USD; I made enormous gains if translated to the Zimbabwe Dollar or the Argentine peso.

I have not recognizing the gains in terms of USD, and will not be doing so for a while.

I have started to buy paper gold, a currency belonging to a nation-state that is more a state of mind:0) and today, I started to buy Canadian Dollars, using my US Dollars, while staying still on my Euro, AUD, CHF positions.

I will be having dinner with my nephew's partner tonight, a physical and financial non-ferrous metal trader.

Chugs, Jay

Btw, counterfeits of the euros have been much less than excpected, mostly using Xerox copies
(well, actually the more productive and better forreign ones)

The CNBC-UK bitching about those "micro holes" has disappeared, maybe clogged by regular
bodily debris.
