i never bought any global crossing either. But when a similar co, flag telecom IPO'd I looked at it and ran away! The need for capital was obvious. But i guess my mistake back in the boom times was to look at fundamentals ! The Chmn of the Dem Party made millions on a $100k investment in GBX. Where he got the orig $100k is not clear, since he is not a wealthy guy! I think Winnick and Dan Sullivan, the frmr CFO of WCOM, are comparing notes! 2 weeks ago there was a picture of Sullivan's new mansion in Boca Raton on th efront page of IBD. It looked about half built. Huge. Right on the water, must have been 4 or five outbuilding s in addition to the main house. Any of the other buildings looked like they could comfortably house a family of five!
