I realize that nothing is proof enough for your pea brain, but how about this...

"Moore, who serves on Ridge's Homeland Security Advisory Council, had cleared up the confusion by mid-afternoon. Jacksonville law enforcement officials later called a news conference to inform the public.

"We have no credible information that would have us to believe or expect there is an active al-Qaida cell in Jacksonville," Sheriff Nat Glover said.

White House officials concurred with Moore's and Glover's statements.

"At this time we have no intelligence information that indicates al-Qaida has a headquarters in Jacksonville or anywhere else in Florida," said Gordon Johndroe, spokesman for the White House Office of Homeland Security.

Glover was joined by FDLE Regional Director Kenneth Tucker. Both said the increased communication between agencies since Sept. 11 helped them get correct information to the public within hours of the telecast.

Glover said he was concerned but not panicked by Wolfowitz's comments because he would already have been briefed if there was a serious threat.

"I was not as concerned as maybe I would have been if we hadn't been communicating as consistently every week and on a daily basis," Glover said.
