The fact that he was detected is good. He had no visa or an expired visa. So a positive on not leaving certain doors open. But When I hear stepson, I am a lot slower to judge. Why is this guy a stepson. Is his father dead? If yes why is he dead? Is this person hiding from his family? This guy may be a chip off stepdad old block or a sad victim of an association he has no control over. I don't know and would be cautious but reserve judgement until I knew more facts.
