I have already read the piece by Halevi and I have mixed opinions for his point of view.

The feeling of despair, frustration, and pessimism (almost bordering paranoia) among the Israelis is communicated very eloquently in his article. It is a very difficult time for Israelis, no doubt. But Halevi's elements of "it's the world against us" and we are "the only victims" has been played once too often. The net effect is that it trivializes the suffering faced by both Palestinians and Israelis, alike, in the wider scope of the conflict.

This conflict is beyond finger pointing or assigning blame at this juncture, and the question of who is really at fault isn't so simple, or even relevant, anymore.
