Add me to the "Nay" list (but I hope you're right as my raise and bonus are unfortunatly tied to the market)

Smart Money, you hold on to that fantasy. It may get you through this bear.

SM, a truly contrarian opinion. It seems that everybody else thinks this is just another bear rally and we will soon see new lows. My opinion: I don't know.

Nothing goes straight up or straight down, bottom or no bottom. This bear or bull problem isn't going to be solved in one day (and half day at that). JMHO.

Too bad you didn't take the same poll a couple years ago, and see what the response was to "we've seen the high" it would have been interesting to see how numbers would have compared in the first months of 2000.

Someone made a comment about picking pennies in front of a train (I liked that thought, though I don't think they were using it in context of the overall market), but, after the market has come down this much, we might not be at the bottom, but to where we are collecting dollars in front of a golf cart? (might still hurt, but not likely fatal)

Anyway Smart-Money, I can't predict the exact top or bottom, and I'm not sure it can be done, but the response to your post only adds to its credibility in a contrary sense.

Have a good weekend,

Sam

Wednesday morning was the low of the year unless some terrorist strikes. How about if we strike some terrorist country (like Iraq)? Its possible the market wants that to commence before the real bull starts. But there is at least one person who agrees with you. Ken Fisher (Forbes columnist and money manager) has been in cash for a year and a half and just gave the buy signal so you are in pretty decent company. I hope you are right.
