By paying the employee they debit G and A for the first quarter and opening retained earnings for the prior period/s. I'm not sure what the deferred share units are? I agree with your last sentence.

This would seem to work because of the way this company treats options. So we now have to hear how the accounting is figured out where options are dealt with in the conventional way? As outlined in my post.
