The only thing that would be more surprising to me than the splendid performance of Itanium 2 is if I can find an AMDroid willing to admit that the "Itanic" might still be sailing. But I know that big surprises don't usually happen more than once in a given day. Oh, and one other thing: Itanium 2 will likely beat 4-way Opteron to market by about a year. We might even start seeing 1.5GHz Madison parts before we see anyone shipping an Opteron system. I wonder how much sense it makes, then, to compare a part that will exist as of this Monday to a part whose existence within the next year is questionable. wbmw
