Sorry about the name confusion. I know a couple Pembertons and now one Pembleton. Thanks for clarifying that. :)

That's illogical, IMO, only if the buyer had stiffed willing sellers at a lower price would this be an issue. But I think you did help illuminate my obsidian lightbulb. It could very well be that the secret buyer is abetting U.S. policy by paying a premium, to the detriment of "free markets". It would be one of the best reasons I can think of for the secrecy.
