2MAR$, Thank you for the interesting link. I will study it in more detail later, as time allows. I can understand how someone who does not understand either Christianity or Islam in much detail can look at them as being similar. The link you provided is basic Islamic PR 101. Islam, like Muhammad and the Allah that he worshipped, is deceptive. Even Muhammad said that "The Greatest Deceiver of them all is Allah." (Surah 3:54) In stark contrast, the Bible describes the devil as being a deceiver of the whole world (Revelation 12:9), while the Holy God is One Who "cannot lie" (Titus 1:2). This is just one example of the vast differences between the True God depicted in the Bible and the false god depicted in the Koran, but it is a very important one. The Bible is full of blessed promises to those who will believe its message, receive Jesus as Savior, turn from their sins, and follow Him. What good are these promises if God cannot be trusted? Jesus rose from the dead as proof that His message is true. Muhammad's body has long since rotted in the grave. As a result of God's faithfulness and promises, the weakest Christian can trust in his eternal salvation because he is trusting in the righteousness of Jesus, and not in his own works or character. He can know that he is saved and going to heaven. Islam has no such guarantee. Even Muhammad doubted his own salvation, knowing that the Allah he served could not be trusted! Read Hadith 5:266: "By Allah, even though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me." If Muhammad didn't even know if he would be saved, why would any intelligent person follow his writings and trust in his capricious god? << Exactly the same animal , with just a few of the stripes & spots changed , and each enjoyed centuries of pushing it's mythologies about the earth at the point of the sword ,gun and cannon, even upon thousands of those that were their own . And both were ruthless. >> You are correct to the degree that many atrocities occurred by people claiming to be "Christians", such as the Crusaders. These people were disobeying the teachings of the Bible, the Words of Jesus, and the example that Jesus gave. Thus, despite what they called themselves, their actions proved that they were not Christians and they were not representing the teachings of the Bible. Do not judge any religion by the words or deeds of someone who claims to be of that religion. Look at the primary documents of the religion. To learn about Christianity, study the Old and New Testaments. To learn about Islam, study the Koran and the Hadith. In any religion, only a small percentage of professing believers really live according to the teachings of their religion. Most people who claim to be "Christians" are practical atheists. They may claim to believe the Bible and they may even go to church regularly, but they live their lives as if there were no God. They do as they please instead of living to please their Creator. Likewise, very few Muslims truly practice the religion taught by Muhammad, lived by Muhammad, and recorded in the Koran and the Hadith. While the Crusaders were directly disobeying the clear teachings of the Bible, the terrorists on 9/11 were acting in direct, faithful adherence to the teachings of Muhammad, the example of Muhammad, and the commands in the Koran and the Hadith. There are many wonderful peace-loving people who call themselves Muslims, and I count several among my personal friends, but they are not obedient to the teachings of the religion that they claim to embrace. Do not be deceived. Islam is NOT a peaceful religion. Allah is not god. Muhammad is not his prophet. The Koran is not the word of god. Dr. Robert A. Morey is the foremost authority on Islam. I highly recommend his two books, "Islamic Invasion" and "Winning the War Against Radical Islam", to anyone interested in learning more about Islam. Radical Islam is the biggest threat to the future survival of this country and the majority of Americans are believing the lie that it is a peace-loving religion. Show me one country where Islam is the dominant religion that allows freedom of religion. Islam only tolerates infidels until it can destroy them by force. In most Muslim countries, Christians and Jews are regularly executed for their beliefs. America has been warned. I pray that we will heed that warning. Our future depends on it. Ken
