That's a great story. Apparently there was not as much dissent against the war in your area? Did that hold true for most of the south? The anger and turmoil that surrounded almost every campus in the north was at times terrifying. Peaceful rallies often developed into riots under the leadership of a small groups of violent dissenters.

I think I would have been happier with panty raids.
One question. Did girls buy cute/sexy panties to save for these raids? My old cotton lollipop pants definitely weren't cool enough for a panty raid.
