yes, I do think it is wrong
dead white males contributed more because they had the power to contribute more

women contributed, but not in ways that were recorded as much- which is obvious, although quite sad (imo)

I have said before, you cannot be both oppressed and denied access to history, AND make enough history to be as widely published and contributive to arts and science and history as those who were not oppressed. (I say this about women and all oppressed minorities, in no way meaning to take away from those few who DID get recorded in the DWM history, despite the odds against them).

I said just such a thing only a few days ago. It must have been while you were away.

I don't care who wrote a thing- it only matters to me if it has 1.new ideas, or 2. old ideas more clearly or differently expressed or 3. is extremely entertaining or 4. has exactly the material I need for some purpose. If Hitler wrote something that satisfied any of those 4 criteria I would read him. I despise what he did, but if he had an interesting or a novel idea, should I overlook the good, because he was a bad man? (bad imo of course)

Of course I frequently remember things without remembering who wrote them. Authors are meaningless to me. I only care about what they wrote, not who they were. Unless of course they are very interesting, and the subject of a book- then they fall under category #3- extremely entertaining.
