I may not have been part of the VD community, but I read every post real-time for a couple years, have always admired your clear justification for investment decisions, and truly hope you cyto and rocket and contributors keep this thread alive. Long live VD's Model Portfolio & Discussion Thread, please.

Here's a suggestion, if out of spare time during these gloomy doldrums. Liquidate and buy some BT iShares--index of your choice. Allows you to clean house, stay exposed and buy some time to gradually add a few new names going forward.

It sounds like you really like CBST no??? Why not keep some and sell a tad of SEPR or whatever. I know it's easier just to blow out 4K of this or that.. but I think you should include whatever you feel is worthwhile. The 'biotech basket' idea is still the best way to go no??

Vector,

I'm definitely in favor of diversifying the portfolio greatly.

The margins aren't all evil, they sure helped us go up faster and hit that $2M equity point we were at.

However, once things started coming down, we should have closed out the margin quickly rather than riding it down.

Actually, we should have sold it all and stuffed it in a matress, or dug a hole and buried it - instead of letting the market dig the hole and bury us.

Met a guy at a biotech networking event last night who after talking for a while, recognized some phrase and some of my background and asked me if I was Rocketman. Turns out he's been a lurker for years. Crack me up.

Later my friend...
