Make up your mind. One minute you're telling us you're a one-in-a-million genius in every subject - then, the next minute you can't seem to grasp an argument regarding issues in the classroom that pit the state and parts of the education establishment against parents.

I no longer live in California and don't have the slightest idea how much time you spend teaching this or that or what degree of influence or inference you accord certain views in your daily routine. There is much that is taught that is not, strictly, a part of the lesson plan.

However, reports in reputable mainstream news media cause me to believe that some (some = too many) California educators prefer to portray this country and our society as merely one among many vs. one to take special pride in and support. I am disturbed when I read about cultural understanding lessons that involve children in Arab and Islamic role-modeling. I am disturbed when children are compelled to learn more about homosexuality and homosexuals.

I suspect you will next of accuse me of hating immigrants, Arabs and homosexuals. You would be wrong. I probably have as many non-native English speaking friends (friends, not acquaintances) as you and possibly more.
