Regards "the 30s again", It would have been infinitely simpler if Bush,sr. finished the job when it he had the once in lifetime opportunity.
I was horrified at the implications of his failure to finish off Saddam (at the moment i heard Bush had halted the run to Baghdad i had a dark thought that all was lost now, i had witnessed the gravest mistake in world history, that was how despairing my thought, at the time of that decision).
I have said, whenever you get a psychopath in a corner finish him off, because if you don't he will be back.
Psychopaths never change, ever.(important i use the word psycopath which is NOT synonymous with sociopath, far too many people have come to believe the words psychopath and sociopath are synonyms (i recommend the book "Without Conscience" to learn the difference)
But now the problem is a thousand times more complex, i have suggested that perhaps there is no solution now, and all because Bush,sr. stopped the run to Baghdad when at that very moment per Dan Rather information Saddam was getting in his helicopter to flee to Yemen and was then notified "They QUIT!!".
Bush,sr., at least now admits it was the greatest mistake of career.Max
