Think of it as the XXIst-century version of the Illuminati. BTW, I've eventually solved the Pentagon Hit... Flight 77 was likely shot down by the US Air Force over an unpopulated area --to avoid massive casualties on the ground. But then, a credible coverup had to be whipped up for public opinion. The Hollywood-like story of a heroic struggle between the passengers and the skyjackers --that would have made the airliner uncontrolled-- had already been offered for the Pennsylvania shootdown. So, I guess people in the Situation Room came up with the brilliant idea of ordering the USAF fighter to loose off another missile on the Pentagon... That way, US officials could spin the credible scenario of a suicide attack on the Pentagon. Of course, the USAF pilot was ordered to target the Pentagon's section under renovation in order to avoid "friendly-fire" fatalities as much as possible (most of the Pentagon's victims were civilian workers).
