Unless you can explain the origins of the fundamental universe, I think belief in the existence of "God", however you choose to define the term, is more rational than other points of view.

How come you don't know that that's funny?

Michael! -- Please post to me the explanation for the origins of the fundamental "God," however you choose to define the term, ASAP!

If you reject the role of religious belief and authority in that
Fine. As long as you mean polytheistic paganism. Because democracy originated in ancient Greece.

Your argument is simply a variant of "You can't have morals without religion". Nuts.

Unless you can explain the origins of "God", I think belief in the existence of "God", however you choose to define the term, is the result of fear and superstition.

2. You must be smoking some good shit, dude.
Impressive argument.

3. I lived in Japan as a youngster and and as an adult and interacted with people at all levels of society. Almost any generality you want to express about religion in Japan is going to put you on shaky ground. While you're at it, don't overlook the fact that, until recently, the Emperor was regarded by many as a "God".
So any God will do?
All are equally good?
