Can you eternally have that level of military presence to keep the suicide bombers at bay? The Israelis are at a point where they are willing to keep it up. After all the Palestenians do not live in caves as Osama They will soon be living entirely on EU and UN handouts. Palestinian per capita GDP rose over tenfold between 1968 and 1993 (during that "brutal miliatary occupation" they love to whine about), and has dropped over 80% since then, due first to the effects of Arafatism, then the intifada really delivered the coup de grace.
