Investors are learning that "operating earnings" and other such pro forma BS are not reliable measures.

Paying down loans and paying the cost of laying off workers whose employment the employer has had the benefit of are costs of doing business and need to be accounted for IMO.

What good is a set of accounts that say "if this that and the other hadn't have happened, we woulda made a profit"?
