Speaking of stupid, you cannot even get the quote (which you call an ol' saying) correct. Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain for you, and the rest of the uneducated, unwashed, masses) made the quote; "It is better to remain silent, and believed ignorant, than to speak and remove all doubt".
