RE:"We seem to be putting a lot of non-citizens in jail these days, without due process. I suppose the logic is that if they are not a citizen, they have no rights. Sort of contrary to what we preach to other countries, how they should handle their own citizens."

That is no logic...that isn't even true.

re: I suppose my biggest beef is letting this middle east war/jihad or whatever you want to call it get established on U.S. soil."
RE:"Where is the evidence that that is happening? Lets be realistic. On the list of threats to the US public"

You remember those two tall buildings in NYC?

RE:"The guy at LAX would have been a page three story if not for the terrorism angle"

When the FBI guy at the scene was interviewed all he could say is that the incident was isolated and there was no indication of a terrorist act or conspiracy. A few hours later the FBI got a new spoksman and changed their tune.

Funny thing was the guys wife and two sons left for Egypt a week ago. Funny thing, I remember more than one 9/11 terrorist that just happened to send his family back home a week or two before 9/11. Coincidence?

RE:"Our freedom is our security. It's counter-intuitive, and a bit scary and easy to abandon, but it's fact. It's what's made this country great."

We could start by just enforcing the laws on the books now.
Actually it seems we are starting to do a little better already. I'm encouraged. Maybe we get the military on the border too.
