I find the statistic ridiculous. One big problem we have is people are presented with statistics from the popular press and never challenge the data.

China certainly murders more children every year then America does. It's not even close...

I guess it depends on what you define as "Industrialized". And what constitutes a "child". Did they give a list of nations? Or an age group they were looking at?
