Jeff there has been suggestion that SI could be a victim of the times...I would hate for your sage advice to disappear altogether... Please consider setting up an alternative sight like:

Jeff, what is your view of goldminers as S&P crashes low?

wondering about the safe haven versus liquidity issue
safe havens might be found in bonds
but soon I expect foreigners to begin selling USTBonds
as inflation returns to our shores via massive imports
other safe havens might be discovered in gold stocks

but another school of thought believes in liquidity drains
with so much pain & suffering in mainstream stocks,
we may see selling the havens to satisfy margin calls
and more selling of havens as money exits the market altogether
you know? take the profit before the storm rips it out also

which do you think prevails on a final push from say 7700 Dow to 5200 over two months?
gold safe haven as inflation hedge?
cash prevails as all havens are hit?

much appreciated, Jim
