You are quite right. I realized my mistake as soon as I saw your note. That's the second time I posted that - the first was a response to a post about Paine by X. Before that response, I typed Thomas Paine into some search engine and it turned up the quote I offered. Just proves you can't trust everything you find on the net. Although we can all recite, "Give me liberty.....", I, for one, could not quote the words that preceded that. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate the site where I found the mis-labeled quote - or I've forgotten exactly how I initiated the search. If I come across it later, I will post. In any case, I apologize for the inaccurate statement. Oh, well, Mr. Paine seems to have died broke and drunk and not so well thought of by his countrymen - something to do with views on religion. ushistory.org
