No, they're not buying the stock. They'll short as soon as
they can get the shares to short.
The public is buying the stock now under the belief that
it may now be a bottom in telecom sector if Buffet is
investing $100M.
The fact is it's a much different financial transaction the
convert holders are playing. Much much less risk than
buying the stock.
If the stock price sustains this run-up until the convert
holders short the full $500M worth, then it's even more
profitable for the convert holders.
