<<when push comes to shove -- retirees usually get the short end>> sorry, mis-understood. thought you meant that F would reduce their ridiculously bloated work-force, which of course the geniuses at the UAW will never let happen. as far as the retiree benefits, i don't know if they CAN reduce them. they can change the benefits going forward, but that $15 billion is what they are on the hook for as of today. Ford will soon be hat sized, on its way to being wrench sized, IMO. Cheers
