Presumably, whatever can be gained in the market by creating the impression of increasing revenues (even though not profits) and high trading volumes.

It will be interesting to find out what they gained by doing wash sales.

I wonder about that... it seems, superficially I admit, that inflating revenue without increasing earnings would actually reduce earnings as a percentage of revenue, not a good thing. But what do I know....
