Hey, just back from lunch... Uh, I think Bush will be sunk by economic troubles running into next election much like his father (amazing the parallels w/Middle East crises/popularity thing) Problem for Dems....Gore's attempts to "reinvent" his personality is so Quayle-ish......doomed to similar results, I reckon Who else da Dems got (or the Repubs, for that matter). Talent cupboard looks awfully bare to me. Although I wonder how effective he really would be, if Powell would run as an independent, he would win and firmly establish a new party on the US political landscape (in addition to the race thing). Would be quite a watershed, but I doubt he wants to have the job.
