The securities lawyer who appeared on CNCB, Thomas Ajamie, doesn't know his business. Auditors aren't there to ensure the integrity of company books. They're there to make sure the books are internally consistent. It isn't their business to make inferences about improprieties. If they find discrepancies, their first duty is to inform the company, not the public, not analysts, not Congress, about what they've found.

Even for comic relief from these silly hearings?

I just thought it was funny how someone's friends could treat someone differently when they only had 20 million instead of 800 million but I guess the monkey's position in the tree matters all the way up to the very top.
