Edscharp--His family can do all of that. For whatever reason, Mary is attempting to draw sympathy for A@P. In my view, there's a very large dose of reality she's leaving out of the picture in her attempt to attain that sympathy.

Actually, Ed: forfeiture laws

I don't believe they can seize community property assets, such as the house, joint accounts and maybe a car or two. I also don't believe they can seize all retirement or children's funds either due to community property and family law. Of course it takes about a year to fight a forfeiture case. By then the assets would be gone due to forclosure, repossession, backtaxes, fines, interest, late fees, liens... It's almost a no win situation. Again ,I believe the gov has an unfair advantage.
