You have a point, and I also like Hocus Pocus. I just think that the perfect interaction between Huston and Hackman when they are walking in the park as an old married couple is harder to achieve, and more impressive. Rather than "acting naturally", there is, in fact, a wealth of observed detail and fine calibration involved. Have you seen "The Best Intentions", screenplay by Ingmar Bergman, directed by Bille August? That is one of great movies of the last quarter century, and is a good example of "full realization", that is, attention to the tell- tale detail, and utter conviction of reality.......
