no one is forced to recite the Pledge or follow along

repeating a ridiculous false claim over and over and over doesn't make it right. you should remove your blinders of "i'll protect the rights of all those children". maybe we should clone you and put one next to each child who gets beat up in every school in the us to protect them. till then there will be many overtly and covertly forced recitations.

Tenchu, No it is very real. I have the experience of my own children who faced this stuff. I told them they were free to not say the AM prayers and the teachers tried to make them leave the room if they were not going to spout the crap with the others. I told them not to leave the room and the principal called me down and it made the papers and they backed down. Kids were bullied though, but there were enough who hated the prayers that they were able to form a defence group.

no one is forced to recite the Pledge or follow along.

When I was in fourth grade, my public school teacher required every student, on a rotating basis, to lead the class in recitation of the Pledge followed by the Lord's Prayer.
