X the Unknown, recently at the G8 summit, PM Tony Blair of GB made it very clear that he does not agree with US President Bush's call for Arafat's removal. I emphasized the names of the two countries above. Before the G8 summit, we could not have imagined that Great Britain would publicly disagree with the US on any issue.

The Communists in their days also disagreed very publicly and even "very vehemently" (China and the USSR) However, I have yet to see Arab countries do that. As an example, recently Saddam Hussein called for oil boycott of the US. No Arab nation joined him, but neither did anyone come out against his call. I think they chickened out.

India has had excellent relations with the Arab countries. They always roll out the red carpet for Arafat. However during the recent India-Pakistan tension, not one Arab country stepped forward and tell their Muslim brothers in Pakistan to stop supporting Al Qaeda, to put a stop to terrorism in India etc. So something we need to ponder as to why these Arab countries are so reluctant to express their differences publicly when they denounce the actions of the West publicly.

X The Unknown. You said..." If you are talking about the entire world there is much religious slaughter going on, by many different groups, and I'm not sure the Muslims are any worse than anyone else- except they spectacularly attacked us- which makes us notice them a lot more. "....

In the previous post to this I said...." ....." Different religions have been killing innocent people throughout recorded history in the name of whatever god they worship. Not all persons within any religion are fanatics but some are and in the case of the muslims there appears to be millions and millions of fanatics".....

I am non religious and really don't favour any religion so I am not picking on muslims but since Sept. 11 I found it necessary to at least try to understand why islam wants to kill unbelievers like me. Not many other religions to day will murder Americans in the stupid belief that they will be rewarded in paradise for their crimes. Now if another religion should show up with the same kind of beliefs I will dam well be bitching about them as well but for the time being it appears to be muslims...not all but a dam big bunch of them. Are they they only threat to world peace...of course not but they are a present danger. When you look around the world how many places are in turmoil because of islam.

When I referred to India and their muslim problem it was only one of many places where religions are clashing.
