Yes, Scalia gives me the impression he's a real piece of work with some of his views.

However, concerning the remark about Bush holding him up as an example, don't forget the famous situation where FDR hoped to "pack" the courts.

We have to be thankful that the system of checks and balances in our government functions well, and must be eternally vigilant to keep things that way. That Bush makes known his (unsurprising) opinion of Scalia is one thing, it would be another if the executive branch actually tries to meddle with the courts in violation of the Constitution.
