Yeah, but you never reported your tech losses.

Almost no losses.... Closed most of my positions in late 1997. Sold the rest in 1998. Dabbed here and there after that with mixed results, but retirement was safely in bonds and term deposits. Shorted in 1999 and made money but not as much as I would have, if I hadn't been spooked by the run up in 2000.

Currently I have two positions: a big short on AMZN and a ton of gold.

yeah, it's almost as bad as know-it-all wannabe investors with a string of degrees who point out stocks that have had a terrific run and claim to have gotten in at the bottom. I tend not to believe any of those bozos unless they have a good record of posting in real time when they enter a position.
