Sorry Jim; I am not that technical. I couldn't even guess how many new messages per day are generated.
Perhaps a call to the company may get an answer.

Jim, I concur. I suspect SI runs a very low end old system. For example, searching is very poor. One cannot execute an exact match like "Chicken Trade" and expect results. Thus storage and indexing is minimal. In order to upgrade they will need to buy more CPU cycles, faster disks and more of them. The hardware in use is probably on its last legs. I also think the revenue SI receives may not justify the cost to keep the SI machine running -- an opportunity cost thing. SI owners may make more money spending it else where.
