Should be an interesting day. Pres. Bush is adamant about changes, but a reluctant Congress must pass the new laws or approve the funding.
This is about finance , about pork, about the corporate campaign financing that is closest to the heart of a politician.
Will Congress trash the company executives and threaten jail terms, with a chance of losing contributions, or will they do as many voters want and introduce some ethics to big business?
This will not be resolved in one day so your predictions of market moves may be correct.
Today I am exceptionally bearish
I said that Wcom would ask for money with executives saying please, just give us some more we promise to
be good next time and use it wisely.
Instead, it was AOL that just got $10 bil from the banks ( since they lose $ 3.5 bil each year)
IMO the banks were forced into doing that - throwing good money after bad, to protect their major stock holdings
These people are all bulls, all convinced the economy will recover, all convinced their own bank is too big
and too smart to fail, that they can continue to sell bonds or stock to the public and all will be well (sometime)
We Americans have always been optimists, even far before 1929, but that did not prevent the resulting crash.
And its pretty hard to say which companies will profit from the situation but it seems time for extreme caution

MDC reports June home sales up 50% So is that a good investment ? I have been burned so much on
reports like that which produce a short term pop and than just fade away into the sunset
( without a clue in Ft Wuth, and hopeing Donnie survived).
