Hi Peter.....yup, the rule is...don't build your own house....you have no one to blame for cost overruns, and delays. This is the second time I have done this, the first was a complete reno of an older place. This one was a demolish of two buiuldings, and a complete new build. I thought this would be easier.....it wasn't....in fact it wasn't even fun by the time March arrived. We have moved in and I am slowly getting everything set up for trading as well as just plain "living".

I still have "trim" and some cable/phone wiring to complete. Then it will be out to do the waterfront, docks, and landscaping. I am about 15 days away from a permit to work in the water so I figure 3-4 weeks and I'll be watching someone else spreading topsoil and seeding.

I'll need to trade "well" for 6 months to get back my "overrun" ......"even my cost overruns had overruns"

I don't feel bad though....a guy down the river was building a $8.7 million dollar wonder.....he's not completed and he's now at $13.6 million ...

So you don't get the wrong impresssion....my house cost less than it cost this guy to install his "septic field"...(thats a true statement). So I tell people I have built a "septic field equivalent" Hee-hee
