Agree on alt energy stocks fundamental ties to congress, however a good majority of these stocks are forming bottoms as of late. I take your wording of "dead" to mean range bound and this I can agree on, although a position trade on a select few with requisite stops in place may not be an altogether bad idea if you're hoping for moderate percentage gains in the interim.

Read about Buffets 100mil. investment in Level III. He bought 100mil. in notes that mature in 10 years and in turn pays out 9 percent cash interest I believe annually. Not a bad investment if you can get it. He's obviously not betting on a quick telco. recovery, but rather a protracted period of consolidation where the selling off of huge assets through chp. 11 filings mainly will be the norm. His investment in Level III allows them to be in a better position to pick up these assets on the cheap whenever the time comes. I agree that people will be looking at others in this sector more closely, and some good short term gains may be had. Too many of these telco's however are on the edge of financial disaster. Risk/reward is heavily weighted more on the risk side, and that includes an investment in our once beloved NT.

Nicholas - I lump him in with the John Pacquets of the world - too far gone to know the difference.

good to see you back chief!
