John,

re: Does anyone have the time or access to the data to be able to figure out how much capital has been used up over AMD's life time?

I don't have the time or data, but I'm interested in the answer.

John

Does anyone have the time or access to the data to be able to figure out how much capital has been used up over AMD's life time? They have raised money several times and I'm curious how much total capital has been used and how much remains in the form of tangible assets.

AMD's balance sheet shows retained earnings in excess of paid-in capital, so I'm not sure what you mean by "used up". Is that how Intel managers describe their ICF investments or the intangible goodwill on Intel's balance sheet that they're finally starting to write down?
