Even so, the president's expression of a lack of certainty about why the proper Form 4 wasn't filed for his Harken stock deal on time leads us to still not know — is the president blaming the SEC for losing the form, or the Harken lawyers for not filing them?

Basically, we've gone now from "the SEC ate my homework," to "my lawyers ate my homework," to "despite my vast staff, and the knowledge that there is press interest in this matter, I stand before you today to tell you I don't know who ate my homework."
