Avista Corp. Expects to beat by 11 cents (110%) but no one cares; volume is pathetic.

SPOKANE, Wash., Jul 10, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall from COMTEX/ -- Avista Corp. (NYSE: AVA chart, msgs) today reported it expects to exceed analysts' estimates for second-quarter 2002 earnings results. The company based its projections on strong results within Avista Utilities and Avista Energy.

Avista expects to earn at least $0.20 per diluted share during the second- quarter 2002, exceeding Wall Street expectations of $0.09 per diluted share for the quarter.
