Revisionism isn't going to work with me. Semiconductor sales hit their all time high three weeks before the 2000 election. Unemployment hit a 40 year low in the weeks before the election. The NAZ was higher on Nov.7, 2000 than it was at the start of the Y2K bubble in the fall of 1999. (It has dropped by more than 60% since the "election".)

The good news of course is that the US learned to play football, and Brian McBride is being actively recruited by UK clubs.

What 'Reagan boom' there was fizzled out early in the Bush I administration.

Only when the US moved to reduce it's deficits (current account, and accumulated from the Reagan years) did long term interest rates fall enough to ignite the '90's boom.
