Hi Mike,

Thanks for the link - the story is interesting, but I've got to reconfigure my player as it isn't working right. Made the mistake of installing winamp a while ago and it seems to have taken control of all my media files, but won't plat them. One of these weekends.

I too have gotten good "vibes" from the way the IHub site interacts with its users. And even if SI doesn't turn off, it gives us alternatives, so I'll be posting there some. However, even when this thread get noticed, the spammers and bashers are pretty few and a general aura of civility seems to prevail. Chalk that up to Mark's leadership by example and always keeping things on a higher plane. SI's got a lot of history for us, and there are a lot of other cyber-friends who don't always visit here, or who I got to know on threads which I no longer visit that I would miss if I couldn't just PM them. So I'll continue to post here until someone fails to pay the utility bill and things go dark, I suppose.

And that's my pennyfarthing's worth. LOL

Peace and Justice --- Patrick

Scotton sent me a link to this and it was a very good story and I really got a big kick out of the little song it had on it. In fact I made it part of my profile on SI and will go try it out on the IHub profile next.

Profiles are still a little shaky here and there, but not in ways that, for example, allow you to make your profile disappear. <g>

Also, in addition to being able to see posts with pictures in them and hear sounds people have included in them, there's an even more important feature: The ability to turn them off! Most people don't know about that one, though. You can go in and toggle pictures and sounds on or off. If they're turned off, they're replaced with a link that says something like "Supressed picture link", which you can click if you want to see the chart or hear the sound.

A big thing for me is choices. Nearly any new feature that's added that I think might annoy even a few people can be turned off in the Tools screen.
