You may not believe this, but In My Actual Humble Opinion, for a lot of corporate and commercial IT applications, both hardware and software technology have caught up with the abortive 1995/96 vision of the Javastation! To the point where you could put something together and sell it.

You could build a Javastation with a mouse, keyboard, flat display, network wire (or antenna), and USB 2.0 port, and cover one whole hell of a lot of corporate departmental and horizontal IT applications (note: not for the home). How much do Athlon XP 2100+'s cost? How much does DDR memory cost?

But that's just me. I've been breathing too much ozone from my Windows XP box's 425-watt power supply.
