Ted, it's all politics. If the Democrats couldn't pin Enron on "evil oil man" Dubya, they're not going to succeed with Harken Energy.

Ten, my point was not to make this a political issue. My thoughts were that Bush may be part of the problem, and not the solution.

And besides, the Democrats don't want to clean up corporate America anyway. Their entire party platform revolves around the notion that corporate America is rich and evil.

Frankly, I don't care what the Dems.'s agenda is although your two statements seem juxtaposed to each other. During the last year, the Dems. have looked diligently for Bush's achilles heel but to no avail. As a consequence, IMO, they look stupid for all their efforts.

I am more concerned with the mess in corporate America and getting that corrected. I question whether Bush is the person to do the job. Unless he is totally innocent of wrongdoing in the Harken mess, its a little like asking the fox to clean out the hen house.
