Americans typically stand by their president in any crisis. So, take those poll numbers with a grain of salt . In 2004, a lot of dirty business will be revisited, and the economy will be the #1 issue in voters' minds. Bush can do little to help it; confidence is low and there is no money for targeted taxes in part due to the huge DEFICIT he's created.
