Yep, you hit the nail on the head. BTW all, check out this study on the optical market.
biz.yahoo.com
Reuters Company News
Europe optical network spending set to grow-study
"Spending by European telecom carriers on optical equipment will more than double to $6.3 billion over the next four years to meet growing demand for broadband connections, according to a report on Tuesday."

>>>The market has discounted and is aware of all the bad news. Any surprises, therefore, are likely to be positive; and with cash-laden investors looking to make money, rallies are likely to be significant. That's my prediction--made without any math.<<<

Is this your viewpoint or was that part of the article?
I agree with the viewpoint. How much more can a trashed stock line SUNW at under 5, or GLW at 4 a share a share get killed by a poor earnings report?
