No, that alone would merely make him a crackpot. But I could go for days (as even former allies like Chris Hitchens now do) listing exactly what does make Chomsky despicable. Geez, John, Chomsky?

Sorry, John, I will not tone down what I feel to be true. You are suggesting self-censorship, which I feel is inappropriate. Besides, with all due deference to FL, this is not a thread ruled by Miss Manners.

I don't know enough yet about Said. The weight of the evidence so far suggests that, at best, he is loose with his personal history. At worst, he may be an abject liar. I certainly find his politics repugnant.
