"More... ROFLOL !!! "

While the rest of us take showers regularly, people of your ilk just keep "Rolling on the floor" in pond scum. But then again, it does help to squish some of the fleas off while waiting for the rainfalls.

Beckham Makes Nail Polish a British Male Trend

LONDON (Reuters) - First came the sarong. Then the diamond earrings. Now David Beckham is inspiring British men to delve into the womanly world of nail polish.

Two days after the England soccer captain was spotted wearing pink nail polish at a christening, high street stores on Tuesday reported a sudden increase in the number of men buying the product.

"We have seen a large surge in men coming into the shop and asking for nail polish," a spokeswoman for Woolworths said. "The staff were a bit confused at first until it was pointed out that Beckham had started a new craze."

The star has sparked a string of fashion trends -- from the fun to the ridiculous -- over the past couple of years. During last month's World Cup finals, thousands of British men sported blond-tipped Mohawk haircuts. Last summer, children across the country shaved strips out of their eyebrows and hair in a bid to imitate their hero.

The revelation two years ago that he wore the knickers of his Spice Girl wife Victoria was also greeted with glee by the media and his army of followers alike.

Such is Beckham's fashion status that high street cosmetics chain Boots has introduced a male manicure aptly named "The Beckham."

"The treatment includes nail analysis, soak, moisturizing cuticle treatment and nail file, followed by a protein formula nail application," a spokeswoman said.

She added: "There have been a lot more men coming into the store for manicures in the past few days."

Beckham is not the first male celebrity to sport nail polish. Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne has always daubed his nails black, as has Goth shock rocker Marilyn Manson.

Boy George and cross-dressing comedian Eddie Izzard also paint their nails, although they prefer brighter colors.

Men's nail varnish has also been heavily promoted by the U.S. cosmetics company Hard Candy, favored by stars such as Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, but has so-far failed to catch on.

Both Woolworths and Boots said it was too early to tell whether this week's interest would be any more than a fad, or whether any particular colors were being favored by their male customers.
